
Mission Statement
The Texas Association of Salsa
Instructors educates, promotes, and elevates the quality and
quantity of Salsa Instruction in Texas, unifying the salsa community
through cultural diversity, elevating the prestige of salsa, while
preserving the Afro-Caribbean arts.
Purpose
To create an organization that
develops training programs, workshops, and activities to educate,
instruct and promote the advancements of Salsa instructors in Texas.
Goals
1.
Define, promote and support the highest
standards of education, credentialing, ethical practice and
professional identity of salsa instructors in Texas.
2.
Establish an organization that unifies
and educates the salsa instructors in Texas.
3.
Develop a training program to certify
instructors in Texas.
4.
Develop educational programs for future
salsa instructors to educate, instruct and promote the advancement
of such future instructors.
5.
Establish a professional organization
that represents and defends the salsa instructors in Texas.
6.
Unify salsa communities through
cultural diversity, while preserving Afro-Caribbean arts.
7.
Promote and support dance programs in
academic institutions.
8.
Promote the art of dance as a holistic
approach to obtain better physical, mental, and social health.
9.
Promote the physical aspect of dance as
a way to achieve and maintain a healthier weight, reducing the risk
of obesity and enhancing the quality of life.
10.
Promote the recognition of salsa as a
prestigious dance art form.
